Track Out Drama Camps at FV Arts Center Does your child like dancing, acting, telling stories? Let their creativity soar with Carolina Children’s Theatre’s 1/2 day track out camp filled with drama/theatre games and rehearsals for an original ensemble work at the end of the week. Each day children will receive lessons on vocals/diction and projection, music, line memorization skills and choreography. The children will also work on sets, props and costumes to create a show that is truly their own! Each track out camp ends with a final performance for friends and family. Don’t miss it! Children staying for the afternoon Art Camp please bring a bag lunch. Musical Theatre Exploration with Carolina Children's Theatre Musical Theatre Exploration Class will focus on stage presence, vocal technique and creating a love for musical theatre in young kids. This class is designed to be an introduction to the wonders of musical theatre and serve to encourage kids to be more active in the dramatic and vocal arts. This 6-week class will culminate in a simple showcase put on by students! Bring comfortable clothes and a water bottle to each class. Fees: $80 resident, $100 non-resident Times: Weds 5-6pm Dates: 6 classes - August 28-October 2 Instructor: Laura Martin
Drama 1: Age 6-8 Acting Class & Gaining Confidence An introduction to the art of drama and theatre technique to develop communication and self-confidence both onstage and off. Students will focus on developing vocal and physical skills through games and exercises in a fun, group environment. Each child will have a chance to share a memorized piece in a simple ‘black box’ performance. Parents, friends and family are encouraged to attend an informal sharing on the last day of the session. Bring water bottle and comfortable clothes. Fees: $80 resident, $100 non-resident Times: Tuesdays 4:30-5:30pm Dates: 6 classes - August 27-October 1 Instructor: Liz Pardue-Schultz Drama 2: Age 8-11 Acting Class & Projecting Confidence For students new to drama and also those who want to continue their training from Drama I are encouraged to sign up for this class. We will focus on the art of drama and characterization; encouraging self-confidence both onstage and off. Theatre games and group exercises will develop focus as students learn and deepen their knowledge of theatre and sharpen their onstage skills. Students will be required to memorize and perform a monologue and/or scene depending upon the size of the class. Parents, friends and family are encouraged to attend an informal black box sharing on the last day of the session. Bring water bottle and comfortable clothes.
