As Carolina Children's Theatre is approaching almost a decade of providing children's theater to our local community,
we are excited to announce that our CCT students will have a chance to show their growth, commitment, and talent
to a national audience!
CCT has been accepted to the Junior Theater Festival (JTF) taking place in Atlanta, GA from January 17-19, 2025!
JTF is the largest celebration of young people performing musical theater in the country with 6,000 attendees.
At JTF, students have the unique chance to perform in front of and receive feedback from theater professionals,
engage in singing, acting, and dancing workshops, see showcase performances of brand new shows and learn about the unique journeys and accomplishments of professionals in the theatrical industry from the professionals themselves.
Students will showcase their talents as a group by doing a 15-minute performance in front of a group of judges as well as a live audience. Judges not only score the overall performance of the group but may select students to perform in the All-Star show.
While we want to bring a top-notch performance to the stage, our goal is to further student's growth,
and keep the joy of the process for them as this is a higher intensity program.
CCT Nova will be a competition troupe open to a limited amount of students.
Students will need to attend workshops and rehearsals, learn music, dance and create characters in an ensemble environment. We will finalize our show soon. Much of our decision lies within our casting - a show that our cast is well-suited for.
It is our hope that CCT Nova will challenge our CCT students' techniques, create new friendships and help each remarkable and extraordinary person soar to their goals onstage and off.
Students seriously interested in auditioning for CCT Nova @ JTF must be able to commit to the rehearsal schedule.
Only (1) rehearsal may be missed.
Auditions are open to ages 8-18 and must be registered in the CCT year-long program.

There is no charge to audition for the CCT Nova Competition Troupe
Once you are cast in CCT Nova, you will be sent a Registration form for enrollment.

Rehearsal Schedule
There will be 2 workshops - TBA - prior to rehearsals starting.
Mondays: 12/2, 12/9, 12/16, 1/6, 1/13 @ 6-8pm
Tuesdays: 1/7, 1/14 @ 6-8pm
Wednesdays: 12/4, 12/11, 12/18, 1/8, 1/15 @ 6-8pm
Travel
Depart January 16th, 2025
Return January 20th, 2025

We have arranged for a block of rooms at the Holiday Inn Express through Pellucid Travel

Booking cutoff date is January 2, 2025 - Any unreserved rooms will be dropped and discounted rates may not be available after that date. Rooms can be cancelled 2 days prior to checkin. If it is less than 14 days prior, a service fee of $10 will be charged.
Travel
All students and/or families must arrange for their own travel to and from Atlanta and to and from the JTF venue.
Please note: We will have CCT organizers to help arrange carpooling and hotel room sharing as needed!
It is important that we all stay at the same venue and arrive and depart at the same time.
Chaperones
Students will be chaperoned at all times including in the hotel.
If a parent is interested in being a chaperone for the trip, please write that on the registration form and
we will contact you once we know how many chaperones we will need.
