Musical Theatre Mini Program
You - our CCT Family - asked for a musical theatre program to augment
our awesome drama program and here it is!
We are launching a 6-week program on Fridays from 6-7:30pm starting in February.
The students will be learning from professionals in the fields of dance, voice, & drama:
David Wilson - Voice & piano coach, musical theatre director
Kerrie-Anne Sparks - Professional ballerina, dance instructor
Shelly McCall - Dance instructor specializing in modern & jazz
Erika Ngueda - Professional dancer, instructor specializing in jazz & authentic movement
This class-mini is an intro to musical theater focuses on
acting techniques, musical history, movement/body awareness and vocal work.
Our 90-minute class will concentrate on two very different musical productions -
The Greatest Showman and Meet Me in St. Louis
learning skills in: Character interpretation, music & dance.
We encourage each student to inspire, inquire, develop skills in self-discipline and respect for self and others. Although the class fosters individuality, it is the climate of teamwork that challenges students to bring his or her best to the class, for the class!
Students in this course are not required to audition for additional theater productions; however, it is strongly encouraged, since public performance is a natural extension of the course work.
The final class will include performing for an invited audience:)!
